Vehicles can move farther than soldiers in one move. Terrain features affect movement and combat.

The terrain maps in Axis and Allies Miniatures are made up of double sided hexes. One side shows countryside and the other side shows cities and other details. The maps are drawn to a scale of 100 meters to a hex. The hexes can be put together in different ways giving a new scenario every time. Each scenario has different victory conditions or objectives which are specified in a hex. So the game play is directed towards the objective hex while fighting the opponent. Play in Axis and Allies Miniatures is determined by roll of dice and the players’ commanders.

The sequence of game play in Axis and Allies Miniatures involves moving the units, followed by an option to either move or launch an assault and then collect causalities.

Review of Axis & Allies Miniatures

Axis and Allies Miniatures is a high quality, absorbing skirmish game. The miniatures in all packs of Axis and Allies Miniatures are well made, making them popular as collectibles. The miniatures have quite a variety and almost all the major combat vehicles used in World War II can be found in this collection.

As a game, Axis and Allies Miniatures is reasonably prized. It is only when people aim for collecting the miniatures as a full set that the expense goes up. However, even as enthusiasts collect the miniatures they also get a chance to add variety to their games. The composition of the squad can be varied when there are more miniatures to choose from.

The map that is supplied is made of laminated paper, so a sheet of clear plastic used over the map will help protect it from tearing. Axis and Allies Miniatures is a fun war game that guarantees an hour of interesting play.
