Players in the Queen’s Necklace play the part of royal jewelers. They use their money – hard earned ducats- to buy jewels, or buy favors of courtiers. The jeweler who sells the most precious gems and builds the largest fortune is awarded the title of the King’s jeweler and is given a place in the royal court.

Carefully formulated rules govern trading of gems, their valuation and other details regarding sales of gems.

The Queen's Necklace game box brings you one Queen's Necklace, 5 golden rings, 12 Gem Tiles, 110 large size cards, one rule book and one Web card for online gaming. The game mechanics in Queen's Necklace is filled with interesting moves.

All the cards come equipped with various interesting qualities. Special cards in the Queen's Necklace add an element of fun to the game. Confessors allow a peek at opponents’ cards. Thieves allow players the theft of a card from an opponent. Forgers force a specified player to discard a gem card mentioned by another player. Thieves and forgers however do not get away with bad deeds. Musketeers can stop them.

Favorite cards can have an effect on the Queen. It can make her choose one type of gemstone over another. The Queen’s change of heart will affect the gem’s popularity and so its price will reduce. The most special card is of course the Queen's Necklace card. The owner of this card should wear the necklace included in the game box. The Queens necklace can be played with a jewel during a sale and be used to cancel a King card.

During game play when a Merchant card is revealed, the game stops. An immediate sale is made. A sale means that each player chooses in secret, cards from his or her hand. These are the cards that they are to offer to the queen. All players’ cards are revealed at the same time. Each card represents a piece of jewelry with gemstones. The card’s price is determined by the fashion marker for that gem and by its rarity.

The King doesn’t like all these jewelry related activities. His arrival on the scene spoils the fun. This is where the Queen's Necklace comes in useful. This powerful card can prevent the King from taking any action.
The sales allow players to have some fun bluffing and thinking up ways and means to win each sale. All the players try to win sales by playing the fewest gems possible, to keep their rarity value up.
After the sale is over, all cards that were displayed to the Queen are discarded. Play is restarted with the face up cards being replenished. After the third sale, the game ends. Purchasing a Queen's Necklace board game entitles players to play the game online free of cost for a year.

Review of Queen's Necklace

Big and brightly illustrated cards, a cute necklace, petite gold rings… Queen's Necklace is a game to cherish for its very looks. The actual game play is also very appealing. Queen's Necklace is a quick game and this factor really adds to its popularity.

Players need to have good memory skills to remember things like gems picked up by opponents and contents of a confessor card. The golden rings provided with the game look nice and cute but are a bit bothersome to handle. After every turn, players need to adjust the rings down on the leftover cards, and reset the rings on new cards if any. Despite these little bothers Queen's Necklace is a highly amusing and engrossing game to play.
