Five ancient cultures- Greek, Celtic, Babylonian,
Norse and Egyptian- are involved in a game of Risk Godstorm. The battle
is between the five civilizations and wars span continents in the race
for supremacy. Players get the opportunity to pit men and Gods against
each other. Alliances are forged and broken. Magical powers are accessed
and used. Risk Godstorm promises players several thrilling experiences.
The Gods available for access are Magic, Death, Sky and War. Each of the
Gods has supernatural forces that can be used by the players in their
pursuit of domination of the Earth. The continent of Atlantis exists on
the game board and offers an extra strategic opportunity to players. One
single card contains all that is needed as per rules to wipe out
Atlantis.
The game play of Risk Godstorm has a unique charm. There is a standard
game board where battles are waged between armies. Armies that lose
proceed to the underworld game board that has hell and heaven for them.
A quaint idea that promises interesting and unique game play.
Five turns termed as five epochs are needed to complete one game of Risk
Godstorm. Each turn entitles a player to raise armies & gather faith;
summon gods & build temples; obtain miracle cards; play miracle cards;
suffer plague; invade territories, fortify a position; embark from
heaven and then invade the underworld. All these actions, done in order,
signal the end of a turn for a player.
A pack of Risk Godstorm contains an Ancient Earth Game Board, Underworld
Game Board, 5 Ancient Armies, 5 Sets of Gods, 5 Pantheon Cards, 66
Miracle Cards, 44 Territory Cards, 12 Temples, 60 Faith Tokens,
Reference Card, Epoch Marker, 5 Turn Order Markers, Sunken Atlantis
Marker, Maelstrom Marker, 10 dice
and the Rulebook.
Review of Risk Godstorm
The miniatures of Risk Godstorm are well made and sturdy. Players will
enjoy possessing them. Those not familiar with the original game of Risk
will need some time to comprehend the rules of Risk Godstorm. All the
battles waged in Risk Godstorm are resolved with dice play. As this kind
of play can take unending hours a restricting feature of a maximum of
five turns has been brought in. At the end of the fifth turn territories
are counted and the winner is declared. Still, Risk Godstorm can
sometimes extend to three to four hours.
Time spent playing a game of Risk Godstorm whizzes past very fast. It is
an ideal game to keep kids occupied gainfully for a few hours. |
